Compassion in Action at Stoney Point Meadows

Stoney Point Meadows senior living community lobby with a stone fireplace, wood accents, comfortable seating, and the message: “We bring Compassion.”

At Stoney Point Meadows, compassion is more than a value. It is how we live out our faith each day. We serve and love like Christ by listening with care, walking alongside one another, and lifting each person up.

As Stoney Point Meadows continues to grow, so does our commitment to whole‑person wellness. As a trusted assisted living community serving Marion, Hiawatha, and the Cedar Rapids area, we believe wellness includes emotional, mental, physical, and clinical health—all working together in daily life.

Emotional Wellness

Emotional wellness begins with connection. Our activities director leads Daily Chronicles discussions where residents share stories from their lives. These moments build friendships, spark laughter, and create a strong sense of belonging. Each story is a reminder that every resident brings meaning and purpose to our senior community.

Mental Health Support

Life does not stop presenting challenges with age. We believe mental health support should be accessible and compassionate. Through our partnership with Megan from Illuminate Counseling, a licensed mental health professional, residents can receive counseling right in our assisted living home using their Medicare benefit. This service has been warmly welcomed and provides valuable support for emotional and mental well‑being.

Physical Wellness

Movement matters at every stage of life. Our daily exercise classes encourage strength, balance, and coordination in a fun and supportive environment. For residents who need additional care, we partner with Blue Stone Therapy to provide physical and occupational therapy services covered by Medicare. These services help residents stay active and independent within our retirement community.

Clinical Care with Heart

Clinical care is a cornerstone of our community. Our nursing team consistently receives heartfelt compliments from residents and families. They care for more than medical needs. They take time to listen, show compassion, and support independence. For those who need additional support, we also offer assisted living memory care, including compassionate support for families seeking Alzheimer’s care in Cedar Rapids.

Supporting Staff Wellness

Wellness extends to those who serve our residents. Dupaco Community Credit Union partners with us to provide quarterly financial wellness sessions for staff. This support helps our caregiving team feel confident, secure, and empowered.

A Pause for Reflection:

Verse:

My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.

— Proverbs 4: 20-22

Prayer:

Dear Lord, we trust in Your care and know that You are always with us. Help us to take care of ourselves and to seek the balance we need for overall well-being. We pray for Your continued protection, guidance, and health in all aspects of our lives. May Your love surround us, bringing wholeness and renewal. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
